ASHA-Ray of Hope is 501(C)3, non-profit, community-based organization that works with victims of domestic violence in the South Asian community.
ASHA-Ray of Hope has received $5,000 from Verizon Wireless Foundation grant to organize "Economic Empowerment Workshop." ASHA is going to conduct two focus groups with South Asian women using the 'World Café principles' to harvest information for content of the workshop sessions. This approach of designing workshops based on the identified needs of the target group will ensure greater participation and reflect the empowerment value underlying this grant. The focus groups will consists of two 12-15 women in each group. The dates for focus groups are on Thursday, May 23 at 10:30 am-12:30 pm at Upper Arlington Library, 1945 Lane Rd. Columbus, OH 43220 and on Sunday, June 2 at 1:00 pm-3:00 pm at Dublin Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road, Dublin, OH 43017.
